  • Good at using design software, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe after effect, Adobe Premiere, and more software in design.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

As the cool season just begins, the drop in temperature brings not just relief from the heat but also a rise in certain health conditions. Respiratory infections are the most common diseases that tend to occur during the winter or cool season. These diseases affect the respiratory tract, including the nose, throat, and lungs and are typically caused by viruses, bacteria or fungi due to environmental changes.
 

Understanding Respiratory Infections

There are two primary types of infections:

I. Upper Respiratory Infections (URIs): These include the common cold, sinusitis, and pharyngitis. Symptoms often involve sneezing, nasal congestion, sore throat, and mild fever.

II. Lower Respiratory Infections (LRIs): These affect the lungs and lower airways, including bronchitis and pneumonia. Symptoms are more severe, such as persistent coughing, difficulty breathing, and chest pain.

Why are Respiratory Infections more Common in the Cool Season?

I. Dry Air: Cooler air tends to be drier, which can dry out the mucous membranes in your respiratory tract, making it easier for pathogens to invade.

II. Close Contact: People usually spend more time indoors in close proximity to others, increasing the risk of transmitting infections.

III. Weakened Immune Response: Changes in weather can impact the immune system’s ability to fight off infections effectively.

Tips to Prevent Respiratory Infections

While respiratory infections can be common during the cool season, taking proactive measures can significantly reduce your risk:

I. Practice Good Hygiene: Washing your hands frequently, avoid touching your face, nose, mouth and eyes. Also, don’t forget to cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or elbow when coughing or sneezing and avoid crowded places (minimize) due it can cause you from others.

II. Strengthen Your Immune System: Stay hydrated and eat a balanced diet rich in vitamins and minerals especially Vitamin C and Zinc. Exercising regularly can also improve overall health and improve your immune system.

III. Stay Warm and Comfortable: Dress appropriately to keep your body warm and recommend using a humidifier indoors to maintain moisture in the air, reducing irritation in the respiratory tract.

IV. Vaccinations and Medical Care: Seek medical advises is the must-do solution and get vaccinated against the flu and other preventable diseases annually.
